Here are some quick tips to a correct golf swing.
- Visualize Your Goal. With this in mind you can prepare your self mentally of where you want to be with your current shot. With this goal clear in your mind you now have direction of what you are trying to accomplish with your golf swing.
- It is critical that you have a proper grip on the golf club. Holding the club with ease will give you more control over the club during your swing. Holding the grip too tight prevents it from releasing properly, where the club will potentially not square up with the ball leaving you with poor swing and a bad shot.
- To execute an effective golf swing there are many factors that have to be in place. You must maintain a relaxed posture with your Knees and hips slightly bent. You must keep your back and shoulders in place by bending your waist to avoid injury. keep your back straight and your eyes directly on the ball through the whole swing. To maintain an effective and powerful swing you should use your hips, not your shoulders or arms as your source of power.
- Good rhythm and solid contact must be in place for an effective swing. By trying to hit the ball too hard you may lose form and your swing will fall apart. By performing a swing with a smooth and fluid motion you will have much more control allowing you to place the ball much more effectively on fairways and greens.
-By approaching each shot with patience, focus and relaxation you will find just how effective these tips can be!
Once you identify the specific problem that is hindering your swing, you can then target that specific function and potentially begin to see results in your swing almost immediately. In the event you feel the need for additional training to boost your progress, you might consider purchasing a training aid, such as a downloadable product online that can supplement and help you achieve the perfect golf swing, without the additional expense of hiring a golf professional.

Yes some good info. There is a lot of info out there on the ‘correct’ golf swing but is there really a right and wrong? Everyone swings the club differently. I think if you get the fundamentalists right such as a sound set up, grip etc then you are on your way. Most high handicap golfs try to work on building a perfect swing rather than concentrating on a perfect strike. I have seen some awful swings but they strike the ball well and consistantly, and that is the key!!
I have to agree with Jason. When I was a high handicap golfer my pro kept telling me not to hit the ball so hard. He explained that you swing the club through the ball rather than try and hit the ball. This is all based on having a sound and repeatable set up. Good info – keep it coming!
I have to say I agree with Steve and Jason… lol… My husband has the craziest looking swing ever (think chicken wing) and I’m absolutely amazed every time he hits the ball he has a nice straight shot and can fade and cut it as well. It really defies logic!.. Thanks for the tips.
Learning what is your natural swing is really the key. I used to struggle to swing exactly the way I was told but now I understand that I have to do it my way. I dropped 6 strokes from my game when I have up trying to copy Tiger Woods.
Yes there is a lot of variations out there but the one thing that is consistent amoungst great golfers is their impact position. Take a look at few videaos and you will see that although a lot of players i.e. Jim Furyik take the club back differently, they all approach impact pretty much the same, and this is the key.
